The Child of the Owl is a story about Casey, a twelve year
old, independent girl whose father has a gambling problem and her mother died.
Because of her father’s gambling problem, Casey moves in with Paw-Paw, her
grandmother, in Chinatown. Casey learns not only about her Chinese heritage
from living with Paw-Paw, but a lot about herself and her family.
